What's new in Class 1?

Date: 19th Mar 2019 @ 5:53pm

It has been a busy few weeks in Class 1. Our new units of work are now well underway and the children are particularly enjoying our D&T 'Dips and Dippers' work where in a few weeks we will get to make our own dips and dippers.

We began the half term with an amazing trip to Hodnet Fire Station with our little friends in Nursery. We learnt a lot about the special jobs that the firefighters do and had a look at all the equipment they used and even had a go ourselves. Our favourite bit was squirting the hose.

The children have also been enjoying getting outside more into our outdoor area and using our new science exploratory station (where we mix lots of potions!) and Maths and Writing sheds. We have had many new resources to support outside learning and another of our favourites are the building bricks and wheelbarrows.

Forest Schools continue to be a big part of our week which we really enjoy. We have been a bit wet and dirty recently in our very British weather but that doesn't stop us learning and playing in our lovely forest.

The children are learning about sound in science and have been listening very carefully to different kinds of sounds. This week we will be participating in some sound investigations.

In the last few week s we have also dressed up for World Book Day and also for Red Nose Day, two events that we have thoroughly enjoyed. Amelia was our very lucky Golden ticket winner in class 1 for her enthusiasm on World Book Day.
