Class 1 2020 - 2021

Mrs Underwood

Welcome to Class 1

Our teachers are Mrs Underwood and Mrs Ward. Mrs Underwood is in class all day on Monday andTuesdays, Mrs ODowd covers Wednesday Mornings and Mrs Ward teaches on Wednesday afternoons and Thursday and Friday (excluding Forest Schools and Activsports P.E).

Our teaching assistants are Mrs O'Dowd and Mrs Booth.

In class 1 we have PE on Fridays but please try to have your PE kit in everyday as timetables may vary. Don't worry we'll send it home on Friday for a wash!  We will also be doing the daily mile each day so please ensure your child always has a warm and waterproof coat as we will go out whatever the weather.

Children in Reception have fun at Diddi-Dance on Friday afternoons where they sing songs and dance.

Every Thursday afternoon we attend our on site forest school where we take part in various planned activities as well as chance to get muddy in our forest mud kitchen!  Children should come into school in their uniform and bring their Forest School kit to change into, with an empty carrier bag for muddy wellies.

Homework is due in each Monday morning. For the first half term the children have a half-term project in addition to spellings, reading and number work. For the second half term, pupils will manage their own homework through the suggested ideas given by the teacher in addition to spellings, reading and number work. Details are clearly set out in the homework books. Remember that reading every day is part of the children's homework. Pupils are rewarded with Class Dojo points for their efforts.

We like to share our news through Class Dojo, so please log in to stay informed to what we have been doing. You can also see your child's Class Dojo profile which keeps you in touch with how they are getting on in school.
