Class 2 2018 - 2019
Welcome to Class 2.
Hi everyone! Welcome back!
We are a mixed age range class of 25 children. We have 8 Y2s, 9 Y3s and 8 Y4s.
Our teachers in Class 2 are Miss Birch and Mrs Mason on a Monday morning.
Our teaching assistants are Miss Ankers, who is with us Monday and Friday mornings and every afternoon until 1:45pm and Mrs Pennill, who it with us Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. We are also lucky enough to have Mrs McBride every other Tuesday afternoon and on a Friday 2-3pm and Mrs O'Dowd every Wednesday afternoon 1:45-3pm and on a Thursday.
Our P.E sessions are on a Monday afternoon and a Thursday afternoon with Activ Sports. Please make sure your children have their P.E. kits (named) in school all week, just incase any of our sport sessions change or we have extra P.E.
On Thursday afternoons we have our Forest School lessons where Mrs Booth leads the children in their activities. Amongst many cross-curricular activities, children practise making shelters, learn how to use knots to join sticks together, make paint from natural materials and learn about plants as well as experiencing self initiated play in the mud kitchen. Please can you ensure your child/children have the appropriate waterproof, warm clothing and wellies (all named).
Homework will be due in each Monday morning. For the first half term the children have a half-term project in addition to spellings on Spelling Shed, reading and times tables. For the second half term, pupils will manage their own homework through the suggested ideas given by the teacher in addition to spellings, reading and times tables. Details are clearly set out in the new homework books. For each piece of homework children are awarded 3 dojos.
We would also like children to read with an adult at home at least three times a week. Children will earn a star on their reading rocket every time they read at home with an adult.
Spelling Shed and Times Table Rockstars are very important and help your child develop their spelling and times tables knowledge.
It is that time of year again where the weather starts to get a little colder and wetter. Could children please have a coat (named) in school to wear outside.
