Tag, you're it!

This week was dominated by reports and parents' meetings, and can I just say once more, how pleased I am with the progress everyone in Class 3 is making.  It was lovely sharing their successes with you this week.  Thank you.

On Thursday 10 of Class 3 went to the Grove to take part in the tag rugby competition.  They did extremely well, and the most pleasing part was the way they worked as a team.  There will be a report on the website next week.

In English, we have been working on some GPS features - namely modal verbs and direct speech.  We have been tying this in to our class book 'The Invention of Hugo Cabret' by Brian Selznick.  The class are really enjoying the story and also catching up with some of the old films that Hugo watches at the cinema.  There are some links below.

In Maths we are continuing to work with fractions; Year 4 have been adding them.  Year 5 have been simplifying and turning mixed numbers into them; and Year have been multiplying them!  There have been worksheets available for homework too.  We tried really hard at working through some word problems on Friday.  This is something we need to work on, and we'll continue to practice over the coming weeks.

In topic we have been researching Egyptian gods, ready to make a class book on the subject.  We are coming towards the end of our Egyptian topic now; the children have really enjoyed it and hopefully, we will have an amazing time at Liverpool's World Museum on the 27th, to really cap it off!
