🚢 Windrush Generation 🚢

In History we learnt about some of the significant changes to Britain after the end of World War 2. We looked at how people from the Caribbean came over to Britain to start a new life and help to rebuild Britain in the process. We discovered that they were unfortunately often met with prejudice and were mistreated. However, due to the Bus Boycotts the Race Relations Act of 1965 was introduced which has had a huge impact on our country today and links in with our British Values.

We wrote in role as members of the Windrush Generation to help us better understand and appreciate their experiences during the time. We even ended our learning by discussing the recent Windrush scandal and decided it would be great to celebrate Windrush Day on the 22nd June!
