Tomb Raiders!

Date: 1st Oct 2017 @ 7:18am

Our topic work this week focused on the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb by Howard Carter.  To get into the mood we had our own tomb in the classroom!  This was full of strange shapes and textures, and it was pretty dark in there too.  Each child had 15 seconds to explore the tomb and then discuss what they had discovered.  And what a funny list of things it turned out to be!

On Thursday, we practised ourreasoning skills in Maths.  Year 6 had to work out how TWO + TWO could = FOUR.  Simple enough?  Well not quite...  You can find the problem here:

Years 4 and 5 meanwhile were working on a dominoes problem.  How can you work out which tiles are missing from a set?  Does the number of spots help?  It turns out it does...

We saw lots of determination and plenty of methods of solving the problems.  Miss Kemp was really pleased with Year 6's hard work.  Well done everyone!
